My Doula Services
"Although birth is only one day in the life of a woman, it has an imprint on her for the rest of her life." ~ Justine Caines
Having a doula at your birth can enhance the birthing experience for both you and your partner. With a clear understanding of her childbirth options, a mother is able to make informed choices. Allowing the mother to make her own decisions during pregnancy and labor will help make childbirth a more satisfying experience that has far reaching benefits such as shorter recovery time after birth, bonding better with her infant, and as a result becoming a more confident mother. I can help you to navigate the research and the options that our community has to offer. When women are empowered during pregnancy and birth the end result is often something to be in awe of.
My services are personalized to meet the needs of the birthing mom and her support team. I offer emotional support, physical comfort measures, assistance with creating a birth plan that includes a woman’s unique wishes that gives her confidence in voicing her needs to her care provider, and advocacy that includes helping a woman to resource the community of birth services. A Doula recognizes that women have the power to birth and assists the mother in accessing her own innate wisdom throughout pregnancy and birth.
